Evanora:Unlimited aka Marjorie S.C. Sinclair is coming to Serbia for the first time! A product of the US trap underground (Reptilian Club Boyz), Orion Ohana (born 2000) is elusive about his projects. Apparently, these aren’t just tracks but “entities inhabiting a psychedelic saga where erotic sci-fi mutates into religious body horror.” Think Skinny Puppy on a shoestring.

It’s all delivered without much ceremony: take it or leave it. And plenty of people are on board. His collaborators include Ecco2k and Yves Tumor; Andy Morin of Death Grips produced one of his albums. Add sold-out tours with Boy Harsher and Elias Rønnenfelt (Iceage), and you might start wondering who’s warming up the crowd for whom.

The music is every bit as unhinged: cheap-and-nasty industrial in the Canadian tradition, running on trap beats turned inside out. Sometimes, though, it gives way to tearjerker ballads built on simple chanson chord changes, or even a prayer in broken Russian.

Above all, you need to see it! The live shows come with impeccable styling and swagger, and the videos are a world unto themselves: Eastern European sensory overload through the wistful lens of mono no aware, steampunk in a hot tub with a katana, nostalgia on fast-forward. His universe really does seem to have a life of its own. Spend a little time there and even your sense of humour starts to shift. On November 7 at Karmakoma, you can see for yourself.
